Just planing a few pieces that came back from drying.  Just a sample of some of my wood pron.

MM, Had to look that up as well.
Wikipedia slyly suggests that when Jeff Brokaw tweaks the Forestry Forum spell checker, so that naughty or vulgar words become nonsense words.

Eg: 'porn' becomes "pron".
I hope this helps - stay warm my friend!

I knew what was meant, but I still have to wonder why?  There are many better words to describe wood's beauty rather than something raunchy, etc.

Pron is the younger generation's online word for "eye candy".  Just something that has entered the lexicon, kinda like "old fart".  8)

I think you mean 'porn' (sounds like 'pawn')? I don't think either of those words are akin to 'old fart'. :D ;D

I thought it was cause they were little boards... prawns ya know.
It's already been colder than that here, woodstove ate em  :D

It's not a typo.  Many words are replaced on places like youtube that have an automated program that is programed to remove anything with key words they put in, regardless of the actual content.  You can avoid these cencoring programs by avoiding the use of the actual word.  Other examples of words or phrases are "Ending oneself" instead of the actual word.  Or "Pew pew" or "long distance hole puncher" instead of the actual word.  A lot of this censorship going on, on FAcebook and google owned stuff like youtube.  I'm just making fun of that here sort of, but kind of used to using the alternatives in comments.

I don't know what these pieces will become, but I have a lot of them.  I'm sure when I'm building pieces for my house, I'll find ways to use some of them.  Those two Ash pieces were one, but I had to cut them in order to flatten them other wise there would have been too much warpage.  Stuff like this with changing grain direction is more apt to warp.

I cut up little pieces  like those for firewood.  Sex sells and maybe I'll try selling them as woody porn next time I get a bunch :o

I have no idea what any of those examples mean either, so I would prefer to see words used that one would use in the presence of their Mother or my Wife.  We are often reminded that this is a Family oriented forum that is read by many guest, members, and yes, wives.

Pew Pew and Long Range hole punch are ways people refer to shooting and guns.

in other places guns are considered offensive and any reference to them is censored, unless its talk about banning them.

I completely missed the accent thing when I read this.
Say it with a Boston accent, or even like NY Tom would say it.
Makes perfect sense!

And that's what is being poked fun at.  These are words that here or in most places would be considered neutral and not offensive or any other problem.  But the censorship crowd in today's society deems normal words as offensive and therefore banned.

I can take the ribbing fellas.  I have thick skin.  And my first assumption is that I'm getting razzed, and others don't usually have mal intent. :))

I love this feathered grain and unusual stuff like the Ash I posted with all the rings.  I need to send that one through the drum sander to get the tear out marks out.  As I come across them, I'll post more.  Love that bookmatched set Old Greenhorn.  What is it?  Birch?

Looks on Accuweather to be the same, within a degree, as lower Wisconsin.. at -5° F

The weather forecasts around here are hitting new lows in terms of getting all dramatic.

They exaggerate. My bad, I reported what the headline was.
With the wind factor we're only at -35 tonight. almost comfy! :D
I had said that the book match was black ash and was mistaken.
The previous and this one are green ash.

My bad, yes I was looking at Andries Black Ash.  You do have beautiful Black Ash.

It's not so much the temperature, but the bulkiness of the clothes needed to keep you warm that makes it difficult to work in the cold.
