Does any body know how fast Mesquite dries? I just milled a tree that was on the ground for a week. It was 40%mc when I milled it and now some planks are 23 % mc after 6 days. Everything was 40% when I milled it and now it ranges from 23% to 33 %mc.

What kind of meter are you using?  You may only be reading near the surface.

I heard mesquite has lots of great drying properties.  Minimal shrinkage, low distortion, etc.  Some furniture makers rough cut furniture parts then dry it the wood behaves so well.
I do what the little voices in my wife's head tell me to do.

Ive always had reliable results with my mm and I have taken readings inside freshly cut planks.
