Another weird bump in the pattern today, supposed to hit 70. Yesterday it didn't get out of the 50's, was breezy, and hard to get the shop up to 70 with junk wood. The low last night was 49 and it's already 52. The shop is at 59 with no overnight fire.
It will be a good day to work on that stove damper and see what's up after and hour or 3 of warming fire. More finishing work, so I need warm. It cured slow yesterday.
It's also election day and we can finally get this over with. Everybody vote well, vote often. ffcheesy

OK, maybe I'm the woodcutter now.

We had 1/4" of rain overnight.  First drop of rain since Hurricane Helene came thru here last month.  Really glad to see it.

58° this morning!!!!!!
Should hit 70 today!!!!!!
As I said the last 2 times it got up to 70, we won't see this until next June.
Maybe it will work again.  ffcheesy
I forgot exactly what year it was, But I was hunting, must have been the late 70's early 80's, we was hunting in a t shirt and we was warm.

I had 72° yesterday.
Clouds was some dark in the late afternoon but no showers in my area.
Sure does seem odd to be outside when it's dark and it's warm out at this time of year.
It's 54° this morning.

68° here yesterday, sun was in and out. All we had was a late day sprinkle when the north wind blew through. 36° here this morning, might get to mid 40's for the high. 40's for the next week. Over 5 cords in the pile now. Should be close to 4 truck loads of wood out in the woods to haul in. Would like to get 4-6 truck loads more cut and hauled.

Well maybe we are finally in the real seasonal change. High for today was around 52 with a decent breeze all day. I had to keep a full fire on low burn in the shop to keep the temp steady for finishes to cure up. I have 4 pieces with fresh coats on them curing up. I may even have to throw some wood in for the overnight. It's 69 in the shop right now.

Forecast low for tonight is 27° and that is a first with another 52 high for tomorrow but some real rain coming in tomorrow night. 50's tomorrow, 60 on Monday, then a cooling trend with highs in the 40's and lows in the high 20' or low 30's. So yeah, I think we are turning the corner.

Been really really dry here with lots of brush fires going on for days so the rain will be quite helpful, but I have some chores I have to get done before it hits. No rain for weeks allowed me to drop my guard and get sloppy. ffcheesy I should probably think about draining that water storage tank too, I took the pump out a few days ago.

Yes, been dry. What little we have had for rain just makes the top layer of soil greasy where all the humous is. Dig down under that and dry. Trails that should have water pools by now are just damp. 26° this morning and lots of stars, so a sunny one on tap. Calling for showers up here Monday, so still not much rain. I think we have had 3/4" over the last 3 weeks. Just now that rain will come and the ephemeral pools will be filled.

I have no idea how warm it was today. But I was cutting wood with a long sleeve shirt, and I was warm.
Yesterday the wind was blowing, and I kept my sweatshirt on all day.

I think it got to 46° here on Sunday. We had a south wind blowing after dinner. And the air was bone dry. I know because the shop was 43 %, then I had the overhead door open and it dropped to 32% in just a short time. Shop got a bit too warm because I threw some more wood in before I opened up the door.

It actually got to 50° the day before in that north wind.

36° this morning.

Might be wet snow this morning, turning to rain showers. And could be wet snow Friday. Highs in the 30's and 40's here all week. 20 and 30's for overnight lows.

Some more rain here, showers, and it was 42° this morning. Going to get colder, NW wind a howling. Low 30's tomorrow for high. Glad the wood is all split and hauled in for nest winter. I shut it off at 7 cords this year.  ffsmiley
