Local Worker Killed While Cutting Down Tree

A Jackson Road Commission worker was killed Monday in a tree cutting accident. Authorities say it happened around 9:30am on West Liberty Road. The county sheriff's department says Terry Wheaton was cutting trees downed by from the recent storms. They say a tree that had just been cut, twisted as it fell and hit Wheaton on the head. The incident remains under investigation.

Its amazing there isn't more of these accidents, the right of way maintenance guys here aren't properly trained and tend to be recruited from welfare programs.   :-\   Watch them slash cutting a 6" tree and trying to decide were to run is scary!
