As Lynn said, producing framing lumber is a questionable gain.

I think the bigger money would be made with wide lumber or timbers.

It never was a question of gain for me, just on how much gain,  the main focus should be a quality product, the rest will follow as time moves on.  Establish a foot in, and build from that.
