Title: Apple ipad mini 2
Post by: 47sawdust on July 29, 2016, 11:11:27 AM
There is a construction app available by buildcalc for iphones.I don't use anything but a Trac phone so I am thinking of buying some type of tablet to use this app for field use in my carpentry business.
What are your opinions on the Apple ipads for this purpose?
Thanks,Mick

I am a iPad fan, typing this reply on an air 2. I am not familiar with that particular app.

The iPad mini is a great general purpose tablet and if buildcalc meets your needs then it could be a good choice. We use them in the field wrapped in sturdy cases for timber cruising and boundary work. iPads are expensive though.

If buildcalc will be your only or major use, then an android tablet or smartphone may be a less costly alternative. The buildcalc app is available on both platforms.
