Last post by upnut - Today at 07:57:54 PM
We have a good crop of wild raspberries this year, so battling bugs and heat is worth it when my wife says "I'll make you a raspberry cobbler.....

Quote from: Gere Flewelling on Today at 05:54:23 PMI would suggest that if you use these bands that you plan on having them sharpen them. I have a sharpening business and have had good luck with every other brand of saw band I have come across. But the Jerry's bands gave me a lot of trouble. There teeth seem to be hardened down the tooth more than others and are very prone to snapping the tip off when setting. Also had issues with the weld as they didn't dress the bottom of the band at the weld which would catch on my band support arms on the grinder to the point of stalling the advancing arm. People that use them seem happy with them, but they just need to go back to Jerry's to get good sharpening results in my opinion.
Gere,  this is good to know. Thank you

Had a friend that had a cat named timmy.  Well timmy went and played in the traffic and it cost him his tail.  So he was renamed TNT (timmy no tail).

Because of rabies my brother was told he had to vacinate all his cats and bovines.  So when he fed the cats he trapped and vacinated them, however there were two wild ones in the upstairs of the barn.  For those two he used a different procedure.  He chased one out of the barn it went a ways and stopped and got vacinated.  Then he got the other one out and when it stopped he vacinated that one like the previos one with the 243.  Using a rifle minimizes one's risk of getting infected.

I use a Swisher 42" rough cut mower now pulled by the RTV Kubota. Much better than the ATV I used for years, water cooled vs. air cooled and it has a cup holder...
Try to keep the roadsides mowed back, trails maintained, and general clean-up. Works well on large stem weeds and brush, not so well on grasses, tough little machine. Probably 30 yrs old, still chugging along...

I just received my 14 foot, 6 inch high modulus carbon fiber rod today that was hand built in Italy. It is supposed one of the world's best casting sticks. A guy my age casually hit 701 feet two weeks ago down in Texas with an Italcanna and that is pretty impressive. My other rods are ODM brand, and I love them for flicking baits and lures. For lever drag reels I like Penn Internationals, tough, proven, and in spinners Van Staal does it for me with their massive drag system and they are totally waterproof. I'm going to practice; time permitting with this new rod and hopefully get away for a couple of weeks in December on a trip to the Gulf Coast looking for pompano. Fish on!

The logs have very little if any blue stain. One log had 2 bug holes in the sapwood.
The TYM has a mechanical diesel pump and old school type injection system.  No computer to run it. TYM 's don't have alot of fancy stuff to go wrong , that's why I chose it. I hope to add a bigger TYM or an 4x4 fork lift next year .

Bad weld alignment and dressing is very common. One of the things thay has always kept me buying blades directly from Woodmizer is the welds have always been done correctly. I've had issues with almost every other place I've gotten them.

There's a member that I got a box from, Cutting Edge I think? He sells Kasco blades and his were well done. I got a box of Kasco's from another outfit (Cutting Edge was way out on orders during covid) and they had things like a blade made from 2 chunks...If I have to explain why I don't want a blade out of your scraps when I am paying first rate price, well, I'm not going to explain. You lost my business.

I guess as a northern boy I don't have a good eye for gators, I don't see it.
