I am gonna try to make it this year!  As far as accommodations go, do I need to look in the Harrison Mi area?

trapper

that would be best  Harrison is a resort town so dont wait too long to make a reservation  There are  other small towns a bit further away.

Maybe this is a bit premature, but this being my first round of a Pig Roast @Jeff are there any specific things you want people to bring? I'm sure there is some easy stuff like paper plates, utensils, paper towels, trash bags, etc. but how can we start preparing to help otherwise? Are there side dishes we can bring? Can I supply some beers/bourbons? Should we bring our own chairs? I can add to the spreadsheet a column for supplies folks can bring.

Jeff

This year especially, any help would be appreciated.  We will have water and coffee for drinks, if you would like other beverages, please bring some along, keeping in mind this is a family event. We will have ice as well.

Any sides are appreciated, but not nessesary. We will have pig, beans, maccaroni salad Ice cream and condiments. If someone wanted to bring rolls we could mark that off our side.

We have a lot of seating, but bringing your favorite chair is common.

Some folks bring something to add to the door prizes, so that is fun to bring, but again NOT! nessesary and not something we would need to keep track of here. ffsmiley

Sounds good. I'm getting excited for it!

If needed- I can cover paper plates, utensils, napkins/paper towels, cups, and trash bags . I'm guessing ~200 of each but not sure how long is spent at the event. Looking at the last one's thread it looks like a dinner Friday evening, breakfast and lunch Saturday? I'm fairly sure we can cover anything you guys need. Hosting this sort of thing is a huge enough deal without worrying about the minutia.

Are you opposed to beer/bourbon or just people making fools of themselves (in regards to it being a family event)? I can keep mine in the campsite...

I'll have to think of something for a door prize. I haven't nearly the skill or talents of everyone else here, but maybe I'll come up with something cool.

Alcohol is fine, long as it is just a preferred beverage, not an event. ffcheesy

Have always had a great time.
There were 2 times that I did not, those were when I did not go when I first found out about the pigroast and had to read about all the fun you all had.  The second , I was in the hospital with a clot in the leg and had to read all about it on the forum.
Looking forward.  Drooling, thinking of eating some crisp outer pig.
I am in the pink when sawing cedar.

I know it's early but would anyone like to commit to Rolls for the Pigroast, or any other sides/supplies? I've started adding that stuff to the spreadsheet as well. Maybe if @Jeff hasn't already bought it we could take some of what he is providing off his plate too... I'm thinking the generics like ice and condiments? It all adds up!

I will bring rolls. How many will we need @Jeff ?

aigheadish

Yay! Great!

Many hands make light work, or something to that effect!

Also, are some "Hello! My name is ________" tags appropriate and is there already a supply? I can order some of those as well.

I finally paid attention to my Hidden Hills reservation email. We are set to be on Site 32, so we'll have that corner locked!

If things go properly, I'll be picking up teakwood early afternoon on 8/1, in Detroit, then dropping him back off there around 2 or so on 8/4. I hope we get along on the car ride, because we are bunking together too!
