BM36HTD25

this is my first post and im an amature sawyer at best

Found this 36HTD25 in an old field.

Engine full of water.
Seized and rusted solid
after working on it of and on all summer finally got it running

Never knew what i was missing , Had a old home made hand crank push mill
Illl never go back

had alot of down time waiting on parts from Deutz
Deutz doesn't produce this engine anymore so parts were hard to find

FYI after i got them i found out Kohler Produces this exact engine

You folks have inspired me to do some upgrades - Setworks is done from scratch
(that should probably be another post)

so here are some more pics
the guy i got this from was original owner
he had some custom log lift 3 arms instead of 2
he also had hose cable hanger installe don the control side (to make it easier for tender to remove lumber)

has dual tapers, hyd log turner, hyd cant dogs, hyd log lift
blew one hose that had been compromised (probably when i dragged it out of the field)
when i fired it up everthing worked :)
the blade covers where rotten so i made new ones from pcv sheet at hd they wont rot agian

That is a beautiful mill, and I am so glad you have spent the time to restore it. These machines were built properly and with long-lived parts choices and good solid design and engineering. I'm not surprised you were able to get this running again. I have the 30ht25 that i bought new in 2003, and I just disassembled the clamps on mine this weekend to fix up a little gear slipping problem with the far clamp. I'd buy another one if I could.

Best of luck,

eric

PS Bob,  that's a nice looking mill!!   Very similar to my TH36ht25 but mine is gas. Have you had to do any adjustments on the carriage lift chains?  I had to replace my gear box and can't get it to stay in adjustments or get it quiet right. Looking for any hints, tricks I can get!!  Thanks.
Never trust nobody cause you can't fix stupid!!!
