Thanks.   I was born and raised in WV , got married and moved to OH. I'm only a 1 1/2 from the OH river, up on a hill, so i can still see the homeland.

Quote from: SwampDonkey on Yesterday at 04:41:09 AMThere's always survivors.  We've had it up here for at least 5 years. I have not seen any ash dying yet. My ash are mostly young trees, one here and there might be 8" diameter. I figure it's mostly young age and good health in their favor. I'm also on lucks side so far.
I hate to say it but that might be about when you start to see the problems develop.  It took several years to realize the infection was here, suddenly you notice the bark slipping and the crown dying back, by then the tree has been infected for years.  Even the 8" ones were stripped here.  Have quite a few that send up suckers for a couple of years, but those all die back eventually.

Thanks. I think I went with too thin of steel 1/4" or less. I was getting flex in the base plate. I have some 3/8"---1/2" around flat stock I will add to the bottom.

There is a very good likelihood that the ship owner and insurance company will only be liable for up to a "couple of tens of millions of $$" worth of damage from this.  Something about the "Titanic law" that greatly limits shipping liability.

Now you go and hit a highway bridge with your truck and see how far that sort of defense will get you.

They are only riding a money gravy train that someone thought was a good idea that will now never be stopped.  One good overrides nine bads.

We did one home visit thing not knowing any better.  The next time I refused the home visit and allowed myself to agree to a virtual visit.  Neither will ever happen again.  Saying no gets into their pocketbook which is why they are so insistive.

I think that the crazy papers is some kind of a government/healthcare CYA thing.  If you had a health issue they would wave the paper and show where you said......

They send us emails saying if we fill out this question form, "Do you own any guns, Do you own any dogs", etc we will get a $5 gift card for answering this or whatever amount, keep it and don't bother me.

Quote from: Magicman on Yesterday at 05:30:44 PMThat plus they want to make a home visit and ask the same questions plus listen to my heart, weigh me, and take my blood pressure.
At first I thought this was a good program. A health insurance company trying to help me plus cut their expenses. Seems more like a scam these days and I refuse to take part. Told them I wasn't interested but they did not listen, got their phone number blocked now and if they want to contact me they can send me a letter.

Mud season I used to park at the end of my 1/2 mile drive so I didn't destroy it as it was OK, but not a great road.  Well I came home one night and backed off the road as I usually do and jumped out of my truck, as I am walking in I can see the road is torn up with muddy tracks so I am kinda steeming when I notice a full size Blazer sideways in the road buried.  Beer bottles on the seat and I find the registration in the glove box.  Being young and naive I called the owner thinking his vehicle must have been stolen and certainly he must be concerned.  Nope the ice tells me that his girlfriend had driven down my road to "see where it went" and got stuck, he would be there tomorrow to come and get it.  Well, my tude changed a bit but not enough so I told him to call me before he pulled into the road as my truck was parked at the end.  Did he do that?  Nope, drove around my truck without calling and drug out the Bronco, well in the process of leaving he clipped my pickup and didn't bother to call me.  That's when I got a bit hot under the collar.  I gave him a couple of options and in the end had a nice, new paint job out of the deal, PPP Triple Jet Black looks awesome, it's not cheap, but it looks awesome!!

Fast forward 15 or so years with quite a bit of experience under my belt and a paving company decided to park their entire inventory of equipment in my driveway, I happened to come home at 9:00 at night with 30' worth of stock trailer hooked to my truck and could not pull in.  Made a call and the on call answering service tells me that someone will be back in the morning as nobody was available... ummm, not gonna happen darling.  So I called some coworkers who made the follow up call and they gave them the option of finding somebody NOW or however much money was parked in my driveway was going to be impounded as evidence.  Wouldn't you know it someone came really, really fast, and they even did some driveway work for me as a way of saying "sorry".

I can't stand lowlifes like the guy that bailed on you.
