The person who runs the sawmill is the Sawyer.
What do you call the person who runs the kiln?  Was wondering if you had a fancy name like Kilnyer or something.  Just wondering.
ARKANSAWYER ???

I'm sure glad to find that the title of this thread is related to "question" rather than some other "Q" things I could imagine. :D

How 'bout "Engineer"?   That's the title that corporate and local Governments use when they don't want to hurt anybody's feelings. :D :D

Dehumidifier?   :D

In french the word for water is 'eau' so that would mean that a kiln operator would be a .... de eau dorisor.

Buzz,
I think the VAC kiln guys would be the sucker ones. ::)
I just wanted to be correct when I addressed water removal specialist if there was an offical title.

Some folks asked me at church what I did for a living.  Told them I was a Sawyer.  The lady said "that's nice, how long was law school?"   Told her I did not know but the next time I sawed for a Lawyer I would ask them.  ??? ??? ???

When I operated RF/V kilns I was called an RF,er.
When those old smoke and fire kilns ran well with good results I was called a good RF,er.
When we went through many $10,000 dollar tubes a year and didnt get good results I was just called an RF,er.
Since this is a family fourm I wont tell you what "RF" really stands for! ;D
When I took over the hot water vacuum kiln operation I was just called "crazy"! :D
And of course I suppose the men who worked for me had other handles for me as well!
When I walked away from the whole mess after 18 years I was called "smart"
Best name for a kiln-o-man that I have ever heard.
