Two weeks ago my wife's best friend of 18 years had to be put down, a black lab that was loyal and protective of her until her last breath. This week my wife decided that she was ready to look for a new dog. We searched the local shelter and a couple of local rescue organizations, but none had a dog that "spoke" to her. Yesterday she visited the animal shelter in a neighboring county and found "the one" I took today off work and went with her and quickly fell in love with the same dog. Here is "Finley" a 6 month old Belgian Malinois. They are often used as police dogs. He is very bright, gentle with our kids and other dog, and FULL of energy. Most of all he is a rescue dog, and I firmly believe that a dog will always remember that.

;D No better friend than a good dog. It is really hard to say good bye to a loyal companion. I am really glad you and your wife are ready to welcome another buddy into your lives. All the best.
how could you say no to a face like that :) :)
Good luck with Finley. ;D May he be as good as the other dog of 18 years.
Very nice, very nice indeed. :)
What an awesome critter. My dog is with me 24-7. I don't know what I'd do without him ;)
Those breeds are extremely protective and very smart. Military uses them in combat sometimes. COngrats on the new family member!
