That is a great story. One of the strangest things I hit was a post hole digger in the fork of a tree.
Two LT70s, Nyle L200 kiln, 4 head Pinheiro planer, 30" double surface Cantek planer, Lucas dedicated slabber, Slabmizer, and enough rolling stock and chainsaws to keep it all running.

:D :D :D :D I have always found my best stuff in the crotches, two weeks ago I sliced a golf ball in half. The story about the bucket tooth has always stuck in my head from day one! I had a lot of respect for the older gentlemen and was told by others that he was a real pain in the a-- to deal with,if he didnt like you he would not saw your logs. I guess looking back at it now he was my mentor,he would tell me what to look for and all the good stuff, any time I would go and pick up lumber I would be there at least 2 hours ;) Tim

when you cut survivors from old tornado area's its amazing what you find in the trees.   ive found imbedded grass and nails ect, but ive heard of circle blades and other tools jammed into the tree a few inches . generally the 16' mark indicates a duck house .  actually anywhere from 10 to 16 ft i think you put wood duck houses.

Last year, I was sawing some SYP and hit a cannonball. It was one inch in diameter and was buried about six inches in the tree. Then I found out that the guy I was sawing for had a one inch diameter cannon and was fond of shooting at trees.
