I just saw one for sale cheap and I'm tempted to pick it up.  It looks to be in usable condition, but I don't know much about it.  Anyone know anything about them?  Thanks.

I've owned a 1997 LT30 for 12 years. Same mill as an LT40 just a shorter bed.!6 '4'' is the maximum cut.
Excellent sawmill.Mine started life as a non-hydraulic mill but over the years that has changed.
Most all the upgrades were sourced from WM.
Lots of pix in my gallery.
Value depends on features and how it was used.Mine has been under cover for as long as I've owned and that makes a big difference.

Interesting info there.  This appears to also by nonhydraulic, but in fairly good shape.  Not a lot of rust for its age.  I think I have missed the opportunity to buy it though.  I called and the guy alreaady has someone coming to look at it.  For $3500 I can't imagine not buying it.

If I could find one anywhere near that price, I'd buy it, widen it to run standard or even wide head lt-70 blades and use if for wide slabs.

At that price I would use the bed as an extension to my LT40 and sell the rest.

I bought mine in I think 2015 for $7500, added a pineywoods turner/clamp and powered the side supports and sold it for $8500 if I remember correctly. It was a good mill and I cut quite a bit of lumber with it, but the length was beginning to cost me jobs. That's when I bumped up to the lt40 wide. Too bad you missed out, that was a great deal.

Yep, an opportunity missed.  Ive been doing a lot of that this week.  I decided to go on my scheduled weekend fishing trip instead of waiting around to see if my FEMA task force would be deployed to Florida.  It seemed if we were going to go it would have been by Thursday.  They ended up deploying on Friday, while I was gone fishin.  I would have liked to have gone.  I have a good friend who used to be a member of my FD who lives in Fort Myer and my team deployed to Fort Myer.  I feel like I should post in "did something dumb" twice.
