Here is a tool that belonged to my Great Grandfather.
He wouldn't have thought about trying to run a sawmill without it.
Do you know what it is?

A tooth set? (tooth hammer) ?

 ;D I'll have to agree with Tom.  It's used to set the teeth on a circle blade I think.  Can't see turning many logs with it. :)

I'm guessing, it is used to swage circler saw with fixed teeth that are thin gauge.  We had a tool like this to maintain shingle saws with.

Can't put one past you guys.  The tool was used to set teeth on solid tooth head saws.

After the teeth were filed down, they had to be set and the gullets 'gummed' out.
