Title: 280 LB. CATFISH
Post by: luvmexfood on February 25, 2015, 04:54:10 PM
Saw in the news where this Italian caught a 280 lb. catfish in Italy photographed then released. Had it been caught in this country below the Mason Dixon line I can think of two words that would have been used.  FISH FRY.

Probably used a 12 lb earthworm for bait.   :o

I saw that on the TV a little earlier. Looked like one of the beasts Jeremy Wade pulls up on "River Monsters". :o

I too feel like it probably wouldn't have been very good to eat but hey. How many people can say they went to a fish fry and one fish fed everyone. Not since  biblical times.

I have caught fish offshore that will feed a crowd. A couple of Amber Jack that weighed in at over 100 lbs and a grooper in the 33 lb range.
