Title: Is this a good price for a boring machine?
Post by: SleepyDog on September 02, 2022, 10:14:37 AM
I've seen some Millers Falls go for over a thousand, one listed at $2k. Are they that good?!

Assuming this (Swan?) works as its supposed to, would this be a decent find?

I believe that you are not supposed to post a link to these types of listings.

It could be a good price.

What was the price?  If you're going to really work the machine for a bunch of mortises, I'd prefer a Millers Falls.  You were able to get a good one for $700-800, but now with inflation, I don't know if prices have gone up.  So maybe 1000 is not out of the realm.  For a good swan, I'd want to pay 500 or less.  The good thing is, as long as you don't break it, it will hold good value. My opinion.
