My handyman wants to apply it with a 2 gallon sprayer and roll it in . Thin it w/ diesel,  mineral spirits or thinner . Once they evaporate , the ready seal oil remains

"Ready Seal" means what?
IMO, used oil diluted 50/50 with diesel or solvents doesn't benefit much from an after brushing much as do some commercial finish products. The wood will only take on so much crankcase oil. My new hay wagon top this year- I brushed on the first coat, the UV did it's thing for a month then I sprayed it on to get underneath areas not brushed, now two weeks later thats mostly soaked in and I'm done for a few years.

Ready seal is a product that you put on wood for a preservative , it's not a sealer but it preserves the wood . Buy it lowes at home depot . I've used it on a lot of my wood here so far and it seems to work good
