When they finally made the dirt road wide enough so 2 vehicles could go by each other, the state brought in one of them to work on the rocks.
There is one rock still there they pounded on about 8 feet tall.

5 month ago i started a new company together with a costarican friend. the guy already has 600 clients where we live. so he brings the knowhow and i am the financial partner. We pushed into a hilly area 1.5h away from us where they have poor internet coverage. Built a 24m tower in the flat lands with fiberglass internet connection from a provider and we beam that to our tower in the mountains 24km away and distribute it to our customers. had to wait 4 month for the permit from the government but now we are up and running. having 8 clients right now. it's a numbers game, the more clients the faster i regain my investment.

That's our mountain tower, nice view. on the other side of the valley, on the base of the volcano are 3 smallish towns we are tying to gain.

Well, a little update. Quarry is at a stand still, hope that the border project starts again for the second phase next dry season, which is in January. Still waiting on payments, they haven't send me nothing for a long time. the crusher is still sitting here though, so maybe i get a free half million dollar crusher  ffcheesy ffcheesy

Start building again :uhoh: , although i promised myself and my wife to not build anymore ffcheesy , making a new small corner shop, the sharpening room. can not spare much room because it limits the handling space for the forklift, but i still wanted it to be near the 4 sider because it will hold all the tooling and knifes. small room with lots of illumination, fitted all the widows cabinet inside first and will build the walls around it (where the boards are laying on the ground)

Then i need to finish the second half of the new lumber storage, there are several changes coming to my sawmill operation. I can't tell much but there will be a container leaving here pretty soon, heading to CA.

Btw, these trees are 19 years old now. This one is the monster tree, behind my house, 40% thicker than all of them because he grew alone, without competition. Not as high though.

I'm always moving forward! not looking back  ffcheesy

Making progress on the tool quarter, pics later. lumber orders popping up so the progress on building is not that great. do have to produce a little TyG Flooring and TyG walling for this little room. the 4 sider takes time to adjust, so if its only 50 or 100 boards the moulding time is a lot less than the adjusting tooling time.

we do a lot of unstacking, putting aside and then restack because we need to classify lumber or need some boards that are further down the stack. so i made some heavy duty sawhorses, 3x3", they should hold  ffcheesy ffcheesy

Ramon,

Great to see all the progress and projects.  Not sure everyone realized you were holding a teak leaf in the one photo.  Did you send the pair of sawhorses out for testing to make sure they withstand a load.  Not really safe otherwise.  I'll PM you with an address here in the USA where you can send the sawhorses for thorough testing.

Now, the other thing you really need to do is build a larger building.  Much larger.

On a serious note...watch those accounts receivables with the construction company.

Lol, the sawhorses are screwed and glued together, so i think i'm save!  ffcheesy

yes, that is a teak leave, can be used as a umbrella.

i'm on it with the payments from the big construction firm, the gov owns them 3.5M right now on this border project alone, they take their time with payments. So imagine the guy has 1000 employees, 7 big projects going on, all the costs of running business. just imagine the size of cash flow  :wacky: . no urge of my quarry right now, no extraction going on at the moment, all employees moved to other locations. so they make me wait also. its all good, they still have lots of equipment here.

next building for me will be the second half of the new lumber shed. not gigantic but will still hold several new packs of lumber. The first pic, between the skidder and the kiln

Looking goooood, looking gooood.

First i wanted to use a second class tyg walling, but then i thought: Every client will see this wall first and it makes an impression, so i went with a good quality. pretty pleased. Installed electricity and a new over head air pressure line directly to the 4 sider. always had to connect a hose which was in our way laying on the floor.

Slicker than greased glass! That looks great. Any plans to paint the walls inside? I find that white walls reflect a lot of light and makes precision work a bit easier on the eyes.

I like seeing all the wood stacked up above everything where it stays dry, under the roof, but still catches all that breeze. Good use of space! Your little room looks great!

Looks good, lumber stacked high enough to reach them coco-nuts! ffcheesy

Shops I worked in would have "stations" set up for different machines, and air line permanently piped in to each area (with water separators). Kind of like electrical outlets, the more you have in a shop, the less you'll need extension cords.
Or they would have a retractable hose reel mounted overhead, so the hose was always rolled up out of the way when you weren't using it.

I've had one of the Harbor Freight roll-up air hose reels in a big drawer for years now. The compressor stays about 30 feet away from the shop in the garage but I'd love to get air to the shop easily. I'm pretty sure I just need to run some hose back there but I never remember how useful it would be to have hooked up. I need to get it out and look at it again, now that I think about it it's a cheap project that improves the quality of life substantially, due to the leaf blower being a bit of a shotgun versus being able to more precisely blow sawdust out with compressed air. OK, off to order some hose and some sort of manifold to get it through the wall.

Thanks Ramon and Resonator for the inspiration!
