I recently ordered the quick release nail for my logging tape, but I was wondering what people use to attach it to the tape?

Everyone has hobbies...I hope to live in mine someday.

After loosing or breaking several from my tape, I now make my own nail ends as needed by crimping a sharpened large staple nail to the end of the tape. I haven't lost one of these in some time and they hold up well.

Tillaway

A horse-shoe nail is the most commonly used.  Just pick some up at the feed store, bigger is better, and bend them like the ones  Baileys sells.

Ditto to the horse nail, I've also used a cement nail.

For the mechanical release nail you need a hinge. That rivits to the tape, Special rivits.
