Never know the other person's ability with DMM's, therefore the basic questions.  IMO, continuity testing using the ohmmeter is only an indication, doesn't prove the circuit is sound.

To be clear, are you saying the charge indicator light does not function?  It is *possible the alternator might begin charging from residual magnetism if rotation is extreme.  Certainly not the normal method of operation and not reliable.

If you measured ohms between the ignition switch and the alternator, the charge indicator light should have been included in that circuit.  Voltage measurement at the alternator would have been sufficient to determine proper function of that charge circuit.  IF there is voltage at the disconnected wire at the alternator, ground that wire and check if the charge light illuminates.  If it does NOT illuminate when grounded there is a fault in the circuit or the light has failed.

Don't know how much cranking it took to start the engine but...12.65 volts was probably only a surface charge if the voltage dropped to 11.9 volts after starting the engine.  Can't comment on the solar charging but the battery at rest tested 12.5 volts and then dropped to 11.9 vots after starting. The way that reads is the battery has very little reserve and the alternator will be required to carry much/majority of the load.

That's a nice operation. Also illustrates the difference in knowledge between a guy running an integrated operation, and a content creator.

Takes 6-10 years for a place to look clean after I cut it out with a clearing saw to space it. Then the undergrowth is gone to, almost like a plantation in a field. Branches on leave trees begin to die off but takes probably 10 more years for that in fir and spruce ground. Hardwoods prune up quicker naturally. The acre of y. birch behind the house is like a park, planted in 2001 from plugs. No undergrowth, just wild flowers in the spring. Trout lily right now.

The sense I get is that the Finns regard their forests as almost sacred. Not in the sense of worshipping them, but a precious resource and one of the few that they have.

My buddy that spent a lot of time with Finns (he worked worked with 3 of them down in Georgia) is going on a trip to Finland to visit one of them in a few weeks. He'll have a lot more insights into Finnish foresty and culture in general when he gets back, no doubt.

They said rain by 9 this morning and they was right.
I got a little wet picking up branches. But inside with a little white dog on my lap.
Should only be about 3 hours of rain and then showers.
Could be wet all day.

Was overcast here this morning, now clearing out. But says showers today. Never know. Going to be 60's, SW wind. Was 42° early. Dry as a popcorn fart.

Big old red tailed hawk soring over the house a moment ago.  ffsmiley

I see the red fox coming back home to the back yard. Probably den and pups in an old ground hog hole. Been no sign of any ground hogs around. :D

And a couple Tom's with some hens out in the field awhile ago. :)
