I am new on here and am hoping to find an answer to a problem from you all. I am getting an ms880 for my mill and found that there seems to be a limited selection of long bars out there. So far I seem to be able to choose from a stihl 42" and a stihl 59". I really was hoping for a 50" but I can't find one. The saw shop here in town is looking as well, but my google searching has come up with nothing. Does anybody know if anyone makes long bars anymore?
Welcome to the Forestry Forum.
Check with "Chainsawr" (sponsor shown in the left column) for that bar, and also sponsor "PacForest Supply" further down on the sponsor listing. At least for starters. ;)
Thanks. I will call them tomorrow and see if I can get some leads. https://forestryforum.com/board/Smileys/default/new_year.gif
Bailey's carries long Cannon bars for large mount Stihls (084, 090, 880), here is the 50" 404/063 bar:

Cannon product coding: CSB-S2-50-63-4 means Large mount (S2), 50", 63 = .063, 4 is 0.404 pitch
They have some long S1 bars listed (smaller mount stihl, such as MS460/MS660) but I tried to get one once and the listing wasn't real.
You think it may be possible to adapt a bar from a Lucas slabber?
The 6' Lucas bar is a 404/063 6' chainsaw bar with the 404 sprocket taken off. I just bought a new one from Left Coast Supplies, for my Peterson slabber. (GB# HS72-63RQ). I'll have to look again but I think it has the large Stihl mount on it, suitable for an 880.
