Can anyone tell me how to get the wood chips to shoot harder ??

Model 2200 drum

I run it at 2500 rpm have new blades and belt is tight. Anvil new.

Is there a setting somewhere on unit? It is 115hp

Thank you,

"shoot harder"  ??

meaning Blow farther?
How far do they blow now? What distance are you looking for?

What length chip are you set at?  Maybe too small ?

With my Morbark 2090D its easy to shoot my chips 60-70 feet.. Mines got the 115hp 4bt Cummins

disc chippers will blow a lot harder than the drum chippers

I think those morbark drum chippers had issues throwing chips from what I've read.

You can route the exhaust into the chipper chute, or add a blower into the shoot.  Vermeer and many other manufacturers route the exhaust, seems to help.

If the chips are that big it surely sound like your anvil is out of adjustment.

I get mine as close as I can without hitting.  It's very important on a smaller drum like mine for that reason.  Plus sharp knives.

I am routing my exhaust into the shoot this winter, come to think of it.

amberwood what are accelerator blades??

I did notice today that my chute needs to be raised over the years of wear and tear. I am checking anvil in the morning.

Thank everyone for your help.

paddles or fan blades. They create more air flow, shifting the chip further.
