Title: What species wood is this
Post by: Stacywhetzell on December 31, 2021, 10:32:00 PM
Tjis tree is from sand mountain in north east alabama.
I am trying to figure out what the species is.
This log has been cut and laying for about 8 months. I love the spalting, and bluish color, but am puzzled about the species

Anyone know what it might be?

A diffuse porous hardwood.  Sweetgum.
