I am new to this forum and would like a little advice. I just purchased a Turner Sawmill as I have access to a good bit of cypress timber but want to build new cabinets for my wife out of sinker cypress. Anyone know where I can find a couple of good sinker  logs to mill up and make cabinets. Would like to do it from milling to finished product. I do realize this is a long term project.

Couv, welcome.. Sinker cypress is not that easy to come by. A while back, I sawed some cypress logs that had lots of nice mineral stains, looked almost like sinker stuff. finding some like that might be a little easier..The logs came out of a cypress brake in union parish...

Hello Couv, and Welcome to the Forestry Forum.  Start asking around because you live in the center of Cypress country.  The Maurepas area is also known for sinker Cypress availability.

Hello Couv, can't help with the sinkers either but welcome to the forum, plan on sticking around for awhile, these folks know their stuff, be it milling them or building the cabinets you won't go wrong asking a few questions.  Oh yeah, we love pictures!
