Had to slow down this morning sawing w. pine as the inner bark layer is rolling between the slab and the log. The logs think they are still standing and are putting on the new growth. Do the small band saws do this?

It has struck me more than once that I don't see how a little guy can be successful running a full time milling business if they didn't have really good mechanical and electrical skills.

Big thanks to WoodMizer for helping me thru an electrical problem.Before i called i checked all the fuses and had everything open with the meter ready.I suspected a solenoid but was not sure how to test them. Doug walked me thru it in no time. And had 2 on the way in no time.

I have recently come across two guys that both want to make some extra money with me using my sawmill. I already have a full-time job and a side business doing land clearing and tree work so I hardly have time to sawmill (as much as I would love to do it probably daily but I also have a wife and 3 kids under 5yrs old).Read More
