What kind of critter?

Whatdya think?   Baby coyote?   Hanging out in the NJ suburbs mid day morning.  I've seen coyotes in the yard before but this guy is tiny and hairless.  About the size of a small dog

I'd guess a sick coyote with the mange. By the looks of the wrinkles in the legs, not very healthy at all.
Did you contact your local animal control? Might be good to get it taken care of or 'cared for'.

Yah that's about right, mangey coyote is my best guess, but I wouldn't want to live like that no matter what I was.

if you have pets or kids better get that one/thing gone

that is one of the sickest coyotes if ever seen! the faster that thing is dispatched the healther the area will become.

Figured he was probably sick but wasn't expecting that kind of response.   Haven't seen him since those pics  but I'll keep an eye out and maybe give a call to the authorities if he stays in the area

I agree with ALL the above. Even if he was healthy, I'd go with Woodhauler's advice.

I doubt he could a lasted more than a day or 2 the shape he was in. Poor little guy. I have had to do the kind thing for more that a few coyotes in my life but dont think i ever saw one that was completely naked.
