Wondering if anyone has any experience with one of these? Moisture Meter
Got an email that they are running a 40% off sale.  At $67, might be worth the chance?

Many inexpensive meters will be within 5% MC.  Is that accurate enough.  More expensive ones have species and temperature correction built in, as well as. Battery checks.  Plus they are calibrated for US species.  Most also have an option of insulated pins and even a hammer probe so you can get internal MCs.  So, define what accuracy and what readings you want and you will have an answer.  Of course, the better meters will last for twenty years and if you drop one can be repaired in the US.
