I have a half dozen of these and they cut like a light saber when sharp.  I have however noticed that they tend to go dull all of a sudden.  There does not seem to be anything gradual about it.  Other than using a 7/32 file and a 30 degree cross angle as directed on the box, are there any tips or trick to sharpening this chain that I should know about?

I've never seen a problem with mine. The only thing that I've noticed is that with most chain it's recommended to keep your file 90deg to the bar. I keep mine 90 to the tooth, I've always got AT LEAST as good of cutting as any stock chain & usually better. Maybe that information will help.
Trying harder everyday.

You might be putting too much hook in it. That'll give fast initial performance, but the corner will fold easier, and dull fast.
