Howdy all,
I am looking at a Franklin 132 a/xl cable skidder that is for sale in my area.  The guy that owns it told me it is early '70s.  It has a 3-53 Detroit in it that seems to run pretty good, the oil looks good, and it doesn't smoke.  The winch is a model Franklin 30 and it works, and the transmission works in all gears and high and low range.  The tires are probably slightly less than 50%.  The skidder currently has no brakes.  He said he will sell it to me for $12k with the brakes fixed, or $11k as is.  My question is, is that a good price?  I have a good bit of experience with working on equipment, and am not afraid to by an older machine, but I am not really sure what it is worth. Thanks in advance for your input.
