I'm not sure that diet drinks are worse than sweet drinks though. 2 cokes a day equals about 80 pounds of sugar per year.

True.  Also, that sugar in Coke and other soft drinks is corn sugar which isn't as sweet as table sugar. needs lots more of it to get that "sweet" taste.  It does have a different feel in your mouth too.  I use corn sugar when bottling homebrew beer.  You get the good carbonation but not a lot of sweet taste in the beer!

 Well I am sorry to have to disagry with ya Buck , I for one like reading about topics that are not related to wood in any way or form . In this case I already new that those sweeteners cannot be good for ya. Maybe someone else did not , who are we to dreprive them of the info .  :-\
 Reading all topics is not a requirement on the forum , if one dont suite you , ya can skip it  ;) There are many that I skip ...  SSSSnnnakes for one . ;D I hate snakes .... really hate them .  :o  Never a misse if I see one , I jump back  >:( Hate um.
