On a vacant lot here in Brookhaven.  The wind blowing and fluttering those flags is awesome.  Not only the sight, but also the sound.   :)

Are these displayed continuously, or is for the upcoming Memorial Day?

Memorial Day.  They just sprouted, and my guess is the local Exchange Club is responsible.  They are our normal flag display people.

I was guessing and was wrong.  This is a quote from our today's newspaper:

"Billy Mullins assisted his Son Tony of Serepta, La., with the placement of 800 flags which will be left up until Memorial Day weather permitting.  Tony has planted the flags for the last eight years near his home in Louisiana but decided to bring the tradition to Brookhaven this year".

We don't have a memorial day here, but we have none holiday cultural days, such as Gathering of the Scots or Acadian Days. However, we celebrate Remembrance Day Nov 11. I'd just as well see family tartans or Acadian colors fly to be reminded of who built this country. And I look at the national flag as a reminder every day of those who prevented others from tearing it down.  :)

This thread has not left my mind since I read it. What a great job. But my question now is,800 flags? How long does it take 2 people to put 800 flags into the ground? And the flags look like they are in rows, not just put into the ground any old way either.
