Title: Lunch with a Goat.
Post by: Jeff on December 16, 2015, 05:31:29 PM
We needed to start somewhere, so since Tamiam kinda drug POSTONLT40 into our first test podcast, It was decided to drag him into the next one as well. :D

In Todays Podcast

We talk about how POSTONLT4 became a Goat, (He missed my reference when I asked if he had been one since a Kid), sawmilling, fires, the weather, a potential alien invasion at the Brokaw's and a few other things. Hopefully you enjoy having lunch with THEE goat as much as I did. Thank you David!  :)

I have a question, who had the most fun with this, Jeff or Poston ? Great job guys, thanks. Looks to me like Jeff has come up with another winner idea... 8)

Great idea! I think you both did a great job. This pod cast is a whole bunch like David's feelings on going to a pig roast in that you get a bit more of an idea of the folks you are associating with on here.
Jeff, you made a great DJ (or host) and the both of you talked like you'd been around each other forever.
Again, great job guys.

like it but with everything else on the forum I don't know where I will have time to get anything done.  The forum has me addicted to it.

Really good interview!   8)

I could be wrong, but I thought the transformation to goat, occurred on this thread.  A post references Poston's change to the goat avatar.  It's an amusing read, of course.

I too found the forum when researching sawmills.
A large section of my firewood stack glows in the dark, at the rate this winter is going it'll be a semipermanent driveway marker.  ::)

Poston does not have an accent, it is a bit difficult to talk when you have a mouth full of grits :)

I went and looked for the post that I mentioned about the click bug in this podcast, and finding the answer I was looking for on the Forestry Forum.  Holy smokes, I thought it was a few years ago. It was clear back in 2001! No wonder I didn't remember the details so clear. It wasn't Dang that had posted the answer I found, it was Tom, and it was Bibbyman that had posted the original question.

Jeff, you had the answer with your discussion with Tamera, you need to record the old timers for the future of the forum, lots of good stuff available.  That is a click beetle, not bug, to an entomologist there is a big difference.

Listened this morning.  Enjoyed the stories related to y'alls experiences. So many people experience different things it is fun to hear the different ones.   Podcasts are good and I look forward to hearing from others and their experiences.  I also enjoy hearing the different accents adds to the experience.

Great idea Jeff!

Big smile here listening to Jeff and Dave. Great idea.  8)

And bye the way, I have seen foxfire. It was when I was kid and in warm summer. We often drove bicycles at night, especially moon light. We stopped by an alder grove that had a lot of dead stems with the glowing fungus. We took some back to our tree house which was not far away at my uncle's. After the dead wood dried out (a few hours) the glow was gone. Never have seen it since in the woods, and that was probably 36 years ago. So very rare. ;)

Well I'm am proud to say I know this old goat very well and have known him for many years.. I can honestly say David Poston is one of the finest men I've ever  known. We have done a lot of business together over the years. And had a lot of fun. We watched each others children grow and he stood beside me like a true friend in a nasty divorce. David I love you like a brother even tho u are old enough to be my dad LOL..... To be serious tho David help me start and sale a very lucrative firewood business and has given me the best advise when I asked about buying my very own sawmill he set me up with Woodmizer and my LT15 Wide with power feed will be here in a week or so. And to clear up the goat nick name.... who ever gave to him should know he works LIKE a mule and is STUBERN as an old Goat....  LOL
Sincerely Yours.... Porkie
