Started with 1956 lane about 12 years ago, upgraded 2 years ago to electric over hydraulic all steel with cab lane,  can't read date on tag was told by seller 1985
The tag should say Smith, Whitcomb and Cook. They took over Lane after the original company closed. If not S.W.C. it will say Lanetec as they took over the sawmill business in the late '80s. They stopped in '03 and sold to Meadows Mills who in no time sold Lane to Bornemann and Green [back to Vermont]. I think L.W.I has the parts business for Lane sawmills now.

My carriage has a tag that says 1982 and the cat diesel spinning it is from the 60s
-2x belsaw m14s and a Lane circle mill.

Pretty neat to have a ten year old thread go active again. thumbs-up
Ya, I'm a little late on this one, My American mill is 1922 but has been modernized with hydraulics in the 60s and my corley seems quite old but I havn't been able to date it, it has a serial number of 6A015 if anyone knows how to date it from that I would sure like to hear about it.
