Long sill log

Quick question that i just can't see to find any info on. I starting the design process and I need to know if I can splice sill logs on long runs. I may be going too big but I have a 40ft wall. If i cant find a big enough log on the property can I splice two 20ft logs together with a pier of course supporting it. Or do i just make the cabin smaller if I can't find a log.

You can scarf long sills together if it is located properly and done properly.
