This tree came from the lower hudson valley in NY. Does anyone know what I have here?

Box Elder.
Thanks. Will it stay pink when it days if I want to make tables or Charcuterie boards?

It will turn brown when it dries but the pink will come back when you plane it.  It might stay pink after that with a good UV  coating and kept out of direct sunlight.  You have a nice piece of wood, a lot don't have near as much pink.  Steve

I saw the butt of the log and thought there was something special there, that's why I grabbed it. It turned out incredible. I'll post pictures tomorrow. I got 22 nice pieces from 2 manageable logs. Apparently this stuff isn't rare. I've never seen it though. I'm thinking if this wood days well and finishes well I may make a room in my house with it. Window frames, mirror, table, night stands, head board, largemouth bass mount backing, whatever. This is wild stuff.
