A Sugar Maple I sawed last week for an old customer. He cleared a lot for his new home and called me. These will be his dinning room table. I cut them at 2.5" hoping there will be enough for a table when it's done drying. I think it will move a bit.  :D
 I had sawn some RO flooring for him when I 1st started about 8 years ago. I must have done a good job for him to remember me.

Take steps to save steps.

If it won't roll, its not a log; it's still a tree.  Sawmills cut logs, not trees.

Kiln drying wood: When the cookies are burned, they're burned, and you can't fix them.

Sawing is fun for the first couple million boards.

Trees and what they show us really makes my day whenI get to open them up.  I always say if you want me to saw a 100 logs there is another guy down the road I can recommend. 
I really love opening up these old urban relics.
