Spring - Redbuds are doin' their thing

Always good to see the redbuds coming out.  The dogwoods won't be far behind.  

Then the grass takes off with a vengeance and the lawnmower gets a good workout.  :-\

Yep, we noticed them along the road as we drove between Charlotte and our land in SW Va.  Very pretty.  Lot of spring peepers too.  Saw a black rat snake about 4' long yesterday on the side of the gravel road near our place.  It was a bit chilly but the previous warming had him out and about.

   We are a couple weeks behind just 200 miles south of us but our redbuds should be opening any day now. Our Forysthia opened up in full bloom last week. They are about the easiest shrub I ever saw to grow. Cut a limb, poke it in the dirt and next year it will likely be blooming.
