Clock from our house log

I've had this chunk of leftover log from our house build for over 20 years.  I've used it as a step stool in the basement as I have done plumbing and wiring down there over the years.  The other day I decided it was time to make something out of it.  I sliced it into cookies and saved the top piece to make a clock.  It still has the color tag that denoted what part of the house it was for.  Originally the piece of aluminum was stamped with a number and letter, but that is gone from all the years of staning on it.  I believe it was cut from a beam that frames the second floor and helps support the stairs.  It was too long and had to be cut off.  The check in the log seemed to be perfect for 12:00.  Now, where to hang it?

That would be good, except that the clock is 14" diameter and that log is only about 10".  My wife said that we needed a clock downstairs in our TV room down there, so it is now hanging down there..
