Sugihara bars on 261CM..
« on: March 15, 2023, 09:26:58 AM »
Anyone using and/or know how well a Sugihara 20" bar would work on a 261CM along with Stihl's RSP chain?
Are the Sugihara bars better or lighter than a comparable Stihl E bar (3003 mount?) and does the chain (RSPro - .325 x .050") work well with one.
I've tried to find a part number for a Sugihara that mounts up - but haven't had any luck so far - but the chain compatibility is the biggest question obviously.
Thanks - Randy

I don't have such a bar at this point - but have heard they are good bars - and Yes I have a 261CM and love it, as well as having both an old Stihl 'E' bar and newer light 04 bar (all 20" in size).
My son damaged the bar on our old 026 and decided to 'borrow' the light 04 bar and chain (a RSP version) from my 261, so I need to purchase a new bar for my 261 now..
The light 04 bar and RSP chain seems like a great combination on the 026 - and the other new unused RSP chain I was hopeful I could mount it on a 20" sugihara bar if I can find the proper part number - and hearing that the RSPro chain (.325 x .050") with its narrow kerf would work with one as well.
I have heard good reviews about sugihara bars and how well they hold up and of course the lightness of them - so I thought if the combo works, I'd give it a try..

I appreciate the listing:
It appears that Sugihara doesn't make a .325 x .050" 3003 style bar in the Light Type Pro bar configuration @ a 20" length unfortunately..
They have ST2U-0J45-A which is 18" and would be exactly what I would like to get IF it was available also in a 20" size - but none is listed..
Guess I will look elsewhere..
Thanks again!
Randy
