Title: Wood Owl bits in Boring Machine(Beam Drill) w/adapter
Post by: jacobcbass on July 29, 2021, 10:05:36 AM
I apologize if this may have already been discussed, but I searched without success.

If they would make an adapter to use WoodOwl bits with a boring machine(beam drill). Then we could switch WoodOwl bits from drill, to brace(w/ adapter), to boring machine(w/ adapter)!

Right now I'm using a WoodOwl bit that has the hex shaft cutoff and round stock welded onto the end with a flat side ground into it (from Tom via Jim Rogers). It works fine, but now the WoodOwl bit can't be used in anything other than the boring machine.

Here is the WoolOwl adapter to use with a brace: Square Hand Brace Adapters for Auger Boring Bits (https://taytools.com/products/woodowl-11-piece-set-3-8-to-1-by-1-16ths-x-7-1-2-tricut-ultra-smooth-auger-bits?afmc=7e&utm_campaign=7e&utm_source=leaddyno&utm_medium=affiliate)

Here's a YT video about using the WoodOwl Adapter with a Brace: New Favorite Tool What is on the End of My Brace (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjAomHJ_8mE)

I just cringe at the idea of tying up so much money on Brand-New Bits to then modified them and end up not be able to use them in other tools, or as they were intended.

Please let me know if you guys found another way that works! Thanks Jacob
