Heatmaster 5000 how much firewood needed?

    have two of the mf5000 heatmasters going to fire one up after plumbing is up
   Just curious about wood consumption
And if they actually heat anywhere near as well as salesman said
Going to see how warm a 4300 sq ft actually gets
Sales guy said with three radiators /blowers it would kick butt

   building used over 5grand of propane to heat last year
Planned on having the owb's going before cold started but didn't get to it

Kind of figured it would be lots o wood ,Have a pile of oak plus three rows approx 35 ft long  I need to use up

   Last night propane guy brought 800 gal, get a discount for volume but it was still $1320 bucks
   He only puts 80percent in tanks

Owb's were purchased last spring figured it was time to use at least one
  Bunch of oak has died last two years so will have the wood

so if you have the bills, or remember, figure how many gal of propane you used, and calculate BTU's * 80%.

Figure your OWB at about 50%, after losses to underground pipe, idling time etc...

Hardwood  is generally in the 24-27 Mbtu/cord.... figure less if its not well seasoned.

and as r.man said, it will figure out to LOTs of wood.

Nice looking stove, I especially like the rocker grates because that aspect of my present stove gives me lots of grief. If you can get someone to estimate your wood use on an indoor system you should double that amount. I say this because in the only place I have heard of where the homeowner heated only with wood for many years and then went to a owb without changing his house or adding any heating load he doubled his yearly wood use. Reliable older guy who uses seasoned hardwood. Won't hurt to have some leftover so I would estimate high.
