Here she is another piece of support equipment for the mill. A Model A Patrick Forklift 1952-53. 4X4 4 cyl Ford Lehman diesel. It's got the grapple which is very handy and is capable of picking up full length logs. Got the engine running and am doing the brakes now. Need a couple hydraulic things, a few gaskets, and she's good to go.... With the days longer I can work on her after school now. I think there's another member on here with an AR-5??

Yes it is the ocean, Porpoise Bay to be exact.
Thanks guys, im hoping to have it running in a month or so.... see how it goes though :)
Can you see out of it or do you just drive by Braille? :D Looks like a rugged machine.
Welcome to forum and nice toy you have there.
Looks like a fun project, and welcome to the forum.
Nice ride you got there, all it need are some fuzzy dice!
:)
A photo when you finish it all off would be great!
I will keep posting photo's as I go on this project and will certainly have a finished picture! I'm thinking about painting it either Cat yellow or orange.....
Been working on the forklift and traded my mechanic some 2X6 cedar for his time. It was a good size load. 45/20' was the total count

:o :o :o :o :o I've never seen a 20 foot Cedar board.
Nice looking Cedar Must be Western Red .... Norten White is tough to get that length...
At 250-300 years old it had some time to grow tall. :)
I'd be impressed if the front trailer rack holds that load for much of a road trip. ;D
Hope it did.
Nice job, 20's can be challenging to cut on a standard lt40 without equiptment to place it just right on the mill!

We put some short 4X4's under the top 2X6 rack, after noticing the load was pushing it down. She held all the way, with no problems. :)

haywire, the 20's were frustrating at times. Especially when flipping the cant, it would shift an inch or or to towards the front of the mill. Luckily I've got the excavator to place the logs. The job is done now and everything went relatively smooth.
Great looking beast and lumber.
Nice looking lumber.I'm a cutting some cedar now.If I could find some straight ones on my land I could cut some 20 footers. Good thing I only needed a few 12 footers.Than if I do find one 2 feet across,it's so rotten can't get much out of the first 8 feet.
Poston I've cut a lot of 16-20' cedar, but all out of power poles.
Well the Patrick is finally going! Everything works great and and all she needs is some welding for the hood and cosmetic stuff. Drove her up to the pit then down to my new mill yard. :)

It's good to see it going. I enjoy tearing into an old piece of equiptment, trying to make them go.

A little update on Old Patty, I run her everyday! She's got a cracked head and water leaks out of the rad into the engine. Doesn't seem to care a bit. I can still lift big logs and run her up the hillside. She starts faster than my excavator. Yes I do bother to do oil changes :D and grease everything!

Picture of the yard.
That looks diffeant now. with all fours wheels on it.
If I saw that out by the road for sale I would have to stop and look at it.Well I would stop and look even if it wasn't for sale. :D
That's the one I was thinking of, glad it's working out.
Go by your local part house and tell them you want some Blue Devil ( liquid glass) and pour it in the rad. and do what on the bottle and no more leak $59 down here a bottle

I will try that! The engine never really seems to get hot so I'm not to concerned but it would be nice if it stopped leaking! One of these days I'm gonna put the engine cover back on. Then she'll really shine.
You will soon lose $59 in antifreeze .Just do what it says on the bottle.

It's all creek water :D
It get cold up there and if you don't put antifreeze youll have more problem than just a leak
Well a little update. I think around last october I was rolling down the yard with a lift of 2X6 and the old girl stopped. The pickup oil filter clogged right up and seized the engine. Probably should've taken the oil pan off while I had everything apart. Live and learn! Anyways I found the same engine except a little newer. Had to drive up to 100 mile house. It's been sitting for a while. The old owners ran it out of fuel and thought the fuel pump was gone. I took the cover off sprayed it with wd40 and tapped the fuel shut off with a hammer and it started working again. Just waiting on a new head gasket now. Then it'll be ready to go into the forklift! The tractor will be a nice lawn ornament.

Hello highleadtimber16, and welcome to the Forestry Forum.

Keep us updated on how the transplant goes.
Man that is one cool machine. Looks like a giant Dung Beetle from he!!. How do you get in the thing? Are you sure you are only 18? Does me good to see a young man interested in this stuff.

Indeed. I sense that this young man will be a future success story - (moreso than he already is)!
Nice lookin loader you got there. Kinda rare bird of a tractor you got there I have seen one in person but at one time my family owned 2 1/2 Fordson Dexta's all with 3 cyl. Perkins.
Wish I could have one of those! :o :o :o
Unfortunately I am still 18. Another 8 months till they stop kicking me ouot of the bar :D
My Grandfather was nice enough, to lend me his loader till I get mine fixed. To be honest I'd rather keep this!
