64 days of no rain?  I been saying its been over two months since it's rained.  The cooler temps have been nice.  And because of that  I get to mill more hours per day.  And presently, I have the pains to prove it.  I get to rest for the next four days in the Nomad part of the country visiting family.

First snow today. It didn't stay in the valley but is on the mountains.

Still smokey and dry. We've got firefighters brought in from as far away as Alaska. Most of the new fires are getting caught quick, but with the dry cold front coming through this weekend, I'm sure that will change for a few days.

I'm in Sun City, AZ. It was in the 70's today. People didn't know whether to wear jackets or shorts. I saw both!

WDH, I'm curious (and not to be taken as disrespectful).  You are keeping count of your rain free spell (and HOT weather) and have reported the tree mortality probably due to the lack of rain.  And you post a smilely...  Is that because you are getting lots of free dead trees?  Because you can mill without rain delays?

We typically go for 3 or 4 months without rain in the summer but the severe drought that we have been experiencing over the last 4 years has taken its toll - lots of beetle killed trees and high fire danger :(

Right now 11 inches on the deck 8 inches in front of the shop . This has mostly fell since 8:00 am . The weather Center is in town in front of the coffee shop . We are nation wide . They are saying up to 18 inches total . No frost in the ground will be starting over making a new lawn in the spring as all the grass will be in my snow piles .
