Title: Shin guards
Post by: Tinkerer on September 03, 2021, 04:30:52 PM
I got the bright idea to wear soccer type of shinguards under my climbers. I spent a few hours climbing that way and it was very comfortable. Has anybody ever heard of someone doing this? I don't want to continue in this fashion if there's some type of safety issue. It just makes me nervous that I haven't heard of anyone doing this before. Maybe there's a good reason for that?!?!

I was looking at my heavily scarred shins the other day. Everything from bicycle accidents to stub knots, falling firewood and (not running) chainsaw scrapes.  I would only say that if you want to look good in a pair of shorts,  and skip all the scabbing, you have a good idea.

I can't speak to the safety issue.  You may want to look at hockey shin guards also.  They tend to have more padding on the inside.
