That I don't know. This is for a truck I'm thinking of buying for my son from a friend of ours. I haven't even looked at it yet. Just trying to find out if I can get a booster or not. The price is right on the truck if thats all thats wrong with it, which is what the fellow is telling me.

well in that case, heres my take on it. probably any booster from any international would work give or take 5 years either way.
the reason i say that is, i put a power booster off a 72 chevy imapla on my 61 gmc 1/2 pickup. and the truck did not even come out with power brakes back then. so yeah in my idea you should be able to find a booster to work.

I agree with ELY.

The most important thing is that the bolt holes line up on the firewall, because of the enforcement bracket behind it. Too much stress going on and any flex from simply drilling holes through a firewall without a mount would be bad for operation.

My experience from swapping and making frankenstein trucks is across an OEM brakes are basically all the same. As long as the mounting bolts are the same, you can always adjust the rods or swap them out and the masters will usually hook up too.

Many times you can swap on a smaller or different master onto the bigger booster too.

I went and looked a little closer at this truck yesterday evening. Seems the booster on it now came off a chevy, so I recon replacing it wont be that big a deal. I still would rather go with something made to suit.

i have also extended the rods on different makes of vehichels just so i could use what i had on hand. thats the great part about having a junk yard.

one thing to be wary of is the volume of fluid that is supposed to flow with the stroke of the original master cylinder. i had a truck one time that i bought and it would not even slow a little bit on the first stroke, really never stopped right. i found out the wheel cylinders was bigger than the master cylinder that someone had installed. ::)

I took the boy to look at the truck after school yesterday. Seems it's a little too ugly for him. Since when was free too ugly? I just don't know about todays kids. My first truck was a 68 Dodge. About as ugly as they came and I was Dang proud to get it. Thanks for the help any way guys.
