Somebody wants me to cut chinese chestnut logs. Should I try to quarter saw or flat saw ? What is it good for ?? Any Advice ??
And is there anything but fence & porches to use black locust on? The guy cut the logs 6 ft. Thanks.

Black locust is a kind of yellowish wood. Might make lumber for a special project. I have cut it before and thought it was a pretty wood although it had a funny smell. (could of been the cow pasture we were cutting in).
Never heard of Chinese Chestnut.
Mobile Demension sawmill, Bobcat 873 loader, 3 dry kilns and a long "to do" list.

I guess the chestnut has torns on the branches and grows to about 10" dia.
I don't know what the grain looks like.
