Looking at buying a new big saw.    We had a recent storm in Ireland that left loads of trees down on our farm.   Sum trees are 5ft diameter spruce.    Sum ash etc

That is the general opinion on the saw.    Any problems ? Etc

The 394XP is my favorite saw of all time. I don't think there is a huge difference between that and the 395. I do know the cylinder and carb connection is different. The anti-vibe is great, power is great. My next new saw will most likely be a 395.

Bad saw. Terrible saw.
Tell you what, I'll save you the trouble and aggravation of having that saw, you can send it to me. I'll pay shipping.

;D  :D

The 395 has been around for awhile now, pretty sure it's a proven heavy duty chainsaw. Will have plenty of power to pull whatever bar you'll put on it, I'm sure.

The 395 is one Husky's best. When modified, they run even better.

how much is a new 395xp in Ireland?

€1550 euros.         A bit costly.    But it should last years

Can you get off the shelf parts.   Or is it home modifying .......

He's talking about opening up the exhaust, and porting the cylinder.

€1550! That's rough. Like you said, should last you years though. Where in Ireland are you located?  The wife and I made a trip there in 2012, we loved it!

Best saw I've ever owned, thats why I have three of them.
The quickest way to make a million dollars with a sawmill is to start with two million.

I'm from limerick.  I'm directly across from Shannon airport (at the other side of the river)

Since the recent storm.  Ireland is sold out of saws in the 400-1000  price range.
A local hotel near me (Adare manor) has 200+ trees down all approx 100years and older.

We never made it to Limerick, closest we came was Cobh and Cork. We fle with into and stayed in Dublin.  Beautiful country, we can't wait to come back. Sounds like you have a heck of a mess. Have you considered any other saws than the 395xp? Nothing against that saw, but unless you will be in large wood all the time it's a lot of saw. I'm not sure what you have available, but something a little smaller 75-80 cc maybe,  might be more useful in the long run. Just a thought.

I saw this in a pub around the corner from where we stayed, thought it was quite funny.

Very good

I have been looking at that saw to run a log mill set up. It has been recommended quite highly on a lot of forums that I have visited. Price in Canada is $1200.00. I hope it is worth it.  It is about $1000.00 over the Husky that I bought 22  years ago.

395 is a very good running saw. Mine was pretty good stock but they really shine when you do a good port job on them. Ran a few old 394xp and they seem to have better torque than the newer 395. Don't know how much availability you have but my Dolmar 7900 runs really awesome with a 28 weighs a lot less than the big husky and cost less too.
