husqvarna 440 carb problem

Someone gave me a hus. 440. won't accelerate when the triggers pulled. used "the special tool", nothing. can't find anything on u-tube for carb rebuild, or replacement. chainsaws 5 yrs old. no help, i'll end up throwin it away. thanx in advance

Welcome aboard! Do you know if the saw has been sitting for a long period of time? The Zama carburetor is not difficult to service, disassemble it in a wash tub so you don't lose small parts and clean it thoroughly. The overhaul kit is p/n RB-149. You will also need to replace the fuel line if it is spongy or brittle.

Thank you for responding! You have given me enough to move forward. As I do this, thanx to you, gonna post the whole sequence on u-tube to help anyone else out. I'll keep you posted.
