a certain Big Logging Companies chip tractor trailer combos have  to drive like maniacs? Never saw anything like it...these guys think the roads were built for just them. They will pass you anywhere. Going through a village and they pass you. They drive around 75+ mph in 55 mph zones. Speeds zones or limits mean nothing to them. I have a Class A and have drove big rigs and I can't understand what these guys are thinking. Hopefully they don't hurt some innocent people on the roads. Throttle Jockeys is all I can call them.

I was wondering the same thing the other day when a chip van passed me just at a 2 lanes into one merge and I had to jam on the brakes and sort of cut off the car behind him cause I was in the dirt with no where to go.

I was towing a 20 foot boat and doing the speed limit and saw him behind me but there was no call for that kind of aggressiveness. It was in Maine.

Maybe they get paid by the load ?

I have a CDL, also.

Could be they are getting paid by the load or the ton?  Either way its inexcusable.

Was picking up some rock the other day at a less then local yard that mainly does concrete, one of their drivers tried to run me off into the bushes on the way out, possibly the same one nearly T boned me on the way back in for the second load SOB  never hit the brakes.

Eventually they will get someone hurt or have the Dot cops down on em, 20 over is reckless driving here, probably reckless endangerment in a big rig.
well that didn't work

I dont 100% blame just the driver, its the owner or management that is allowing or forcing them to drive this way. We all know what a loaded truck is going to do, 1-2 good accidents and they can forget about insurance, and the driver can forget about his license. There was an incident in central NY a few years ago where a trooper hit a loaded tractor, she was killed and they put them thru hell and it wasnt their fault. Owning and running trucks over the road seems like the biggest headache of all.

You guys should be here during beat harvest season. if you can get in start it you are a truck driver. as its a farm product you don't need a cdl or a dot card or have to take a pee test. and over loaded big time

Here its spud trucks. Goose63, funny that I just heard yesterday about how dangerous the roads in North Dakota are because they weren't set up for the amount of traffic they're getting.

I used to take my dad fishing in hornepayne ontario.  The local motel/restaraunt owner that we got to know warned me that the logging trucks up there drive down the middle of the gravel roads that we had to travel down to get to the fishing lakes.  I started looking ahead for dust and one of those trips with even a little advanced notice I could barely swerve in time I ended up in the ditch, the canoe on top slid halfway off the top of my van.  Some one not paying attention, or not forewarned might of gotten it worse.

Up north are logging roads, made and maintained by the logging company. The trucks have the right of way. I think there are signs that state that.

Other than roads companies own on there land.
1. Drivers are paid per load or ton!!!! 2. There is a shortage of drivers period so it encourages  a warm body not a truck driver. 3. Dot is getting lots of complaints Take the plate number, truck number and description and turn them in if its that bad.
You may check out but you will never leave
